Cookies & data
Last updated: 28 May 2026
In brief
wwii.online uses very few cookies and does not track you across sites. No ads, no data resale.
What we store
Browser local storage and a few minimal analytics cookies. Details below.
1. Browser local storage (localStorage)
To remember which polls you have voted on (so we don't re-ask the same question) and content warnings you have already accepted. Stored only on your device; not sent to a server.
Keys used: wwii.polls.voted, wwii.polls.warnings.dismissed.
2. Audience measurement (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which scenarios are viewed. No name, address, or email is collected.
Cookies set: _ga, _ga_* (anonymous, 2 years). You can block them via your browser or install Google Analytics Opt-out.
3. Cloudflare technical cookie
Our host Cloudflare sets a _cfuvid cookie to distinguish visitors from bots. No tracking, session duration.
What we don't store
- No name, email, address, or phone
- No targeted ads, no social media pixels
- No reselling, no sharing with commercial third parties
- No advertising tracking cookies
Polls
When you vote on a poll, your choice is sent to a global counter on Cloudflare. No personal information is attached — not even your IP. The server doesn't know it's you; it just counts "+1 on option B".
Your rights
You may at any time:
- Clear browser local data (Settings → Privacy → Clear data)
- Block cookies via your browser
- Disable Google Analytics via their opt-out module
